The safety program, which paved the road towards Volvo's receiving an award, is actually the Volvo Child Safety campaign and it is a whole program of actually sending out information and enlightening people on child safety. The company has created various ways of reaching out to the public like through a booklet that they call the Children in Cars as well as an information pack called Young Families which is targeted for expectant parents. All of the pieces of information that Volvo has shared through this program are all actually from the type of car seats and accessories that they have tested for carrying children with safety through travels. As also part of this program, Volvo has also sponsored The Baby Show in various states.

Rune Lundberg is the head of Volvo Buses' Region International and on this new update they received, he says, "With this order, we have achieved a breakthrough in the country also with regard to city buses. I foresee favorable prospects for more orders." Sure enough, if such would be the new emission standards and Volvo has the right kind of city buses for it, then more and more orders may come pouring in for the manufacturer.

During this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (or SEMA) show, you would also find a showcase of vehicles that these auto crafters are setting out for people to ogle at. One of the concept vehicles that one can find for this year is the new Volvo version of a hotrod the Volvo-Caresto V8 roadster. Never did once it enter my mind to think of a hotrod that belongs to Volvo such that this one comes as a big surprise.

The Eye For Blind Spots Most of the accidents that occur in our roads and streets are all because drivers are simply not aware that there are other vehicles around him. This is because those other vehicles are in the driver's blind spot. So the kind of technology that would solve this problem would be those that allow the driver to see through every inch around him including blind spots. Audi already has the Side Assist system which uses LED displays while Volvo has the Blind Spot Information System which utilizes cameras.

BMW and Mercedes-Benz obtained three segment awards, while Ford, Nissan, and Volkswagen each garnering two awards. BMW models that were awarded include BMW 3 Series, BMW 6 Series, and BMW X5. On the other hand Mercedes-Benz earns awards for its E-Class, S-Class, and GL-Class.

Maruti's SX4 top-end variant is priced at 7.24 lakh which is by far cheaper than all the variants of the City except the base model which is priced at 6.77 lakh. Meanwhile Logan's top-end variant does not even come close to the Rs 7 lakh barrier with the base variant pricing only Rs 4.28 lakh.
