The enhancements done on the Premacy include the further improved "Communicative and Dynamic" product concept which is an electronically controlled five speed automatic transmission mounted in an all-front-wheel-drive (FWD) grades and the adoption of sequential valve timing (S-VT) has been made available to other model grades. These changes have resulted in more power as well as improved fuel efficiency plus top class emissions. Mazda has also upgraded the suspension to provide a more stable and more comfortable ride.

Franz talked about the show cars that were recently displayed at different auto shows. Like what he revealed on Mazda designs, each car he discussed was as organic rather than geometric or on steroids as some "muscular" production vehicles look today. The cars' designs are flowing and integrated but not really ergonomic. Each car will be a front engine, rear or all wheel drive vehicle, a departure from the front wheel drive of most existing Mazda vehicles.

The Friday race of the SCCA Pro Racing SIRIUS Satellite Radio Mazda MX-5 Cup is an impressively successful event as the record books held eight official lead changes at the start-finish line, but overlook the dozens of passes and repasses around the track. Scoring a come-from-behind win after being bumped-off at turn one on the opening lap was Cleveland-area native Jason Saini. Ara Malkhassian and Andrew Caddell were following him across the line. Saini again earned the same success in the second race after another great battle that saw four different leaders (Saini, Caddell, Matt Cross, & Elivan Goulart) and two lead changes on the final lap. Both races were green flag all the way.

Another Japanese automaker, Nissan Motor Co. has announced that their worldwide production rose by 6.9 percent to 262,572 vehicles plus they also mentioned an increase in overseas output which they said offsets the decline they have in smaller domestic market. The domestic production of Nissan which is 44 percent owned by Renault SA of France has dropped 12.3 percent to 71,489 vehicles luckily its overseas output surged 16.4 percent to 191,083 units.
